Pastor's Phillies Connection
After years of applauding the lack luster performance of Philadelphia sports teams, especially the Phillies, Pastor Rick was humbly brought to his knees by his barber, Mike Fragale, of Fragale Brothers Barber Shop in Kennett Square, on Sunday morning, October 28, 2007.

Pastor Rick, Mike and Frankie Fragale
A life long New York sports fan, Pastor has been a Mets fan since the early 1960's. While sitting in the barbers chair during baseball spring training, he and Mike decided to "make things interesting" during the upcoming season. Their agreement was if the Mets finished higher than the Phillies at the end of the regular season, his barber would have to wear Mets attire on a Saturday in October while cutting hair in a decidedly Phillies barber shop. But, if the Phillies finished higher than the Mets, Pastor would wear some Phillies attire and proclaim the Phillies the better team, during a Sunday morning worship service, before a congregation filled with Phillies fans.

With two weeks to go in the baseball season and the Mets with a comfortable 7 game lead in the standings, Pastor Rick was feeling pretty good about things. But on the last day of the season, his beloved Mets were on the outside looking in at a Phillies team that rightfully deserved to be the National League East champions.

On Sunday, October 28, Mike Fragale attended both services as Pastor Rick graciously acknowledged the Phillies dominance. The pleasure felt by the congregation was evidenced by a rousing ovation during the announcements as barber Mike Fragale was introduced. This painful experience for Pastor continued following the services with pictures and being presented with his very own Phillies cap, Jimmie Rollins t-shirt, and a Phillies flag.
