Reclaiming the “L” Word

Beginning October 7, we will introduce an Adult Education class based on the popular Lutheran Voices book Reclaiming the “L” Word. The book, written by Kelly Fryar, covers renewing congregations by recognizing and living out the core teachings of the Lutheran faith. The book is primarily written for those who call themselves Lutheran and, specifically, those who are members of ELCA congregations, and it is intended to help us answer central questions: Who are we? What DOES it mean to be a Lutheran today, anyway? And, why does it matter? Phil Duncan will be leading our discussion on this book, and we invite all curious Lutherans (be they lifelong or newcomer) to join in on the discussion.

Prayer

Does prayer work? Does prayer change God or us? Or both? What can we really expect from prayer? These are the questions we will explore in this new program based on the best-selling Philip Yancey book Prayer: Does It Make Any Difference? Join us as we probe the very heartbeat of our relationship with God. This program also begins Sunday, October 7 at 9:30 in the church sanctuary.

Following Matins, please stick around for Wednesday Walk Bible Study at 9:30 as we journey through the book of Exodus. Newcomers are always welcome to this study! Joanne DiBiase is the leader.

See Through Scriptures

This study will be an overview of the biblical narrative.
