Alpha
What is Alpha?
Alpha is an opportunity to explore the Christian faith in a relaxed setting over ten weekly sessions. It is low key, friendly and fun. Alpha is currently running in 153 countries and in every state in the U.S. Alpha is supported by all the main Christian denominations. More than 8 million people all over the world have been through the Alpha course.

Who should attend?
Alpha is for anyone and everyone – anyone interested in finding out more about the Christian faith. All are welcome. It is great for non Christians wanting to investigate Christianity, new Christians or those with questions about their faith – or someone just wanting a refresher on the basics. People attend for a variety of reasons, some want to investigate whether God really exists, others may have attended church on and off all their lives but feel they have never really understood the basics of the Christian faith. People come from many different backgrounds, with many different viewpoints – but all seek to understand, establish or strengthen the relevance of Jesus Christ in their lives today.
How does Alpha work?
Each session starts with sharing a meal, followed by a talk and then small group discussions. The small groups are often thought to be the best part because there is an opportunity to ask questions, express opinions and develop close friendships. All questions are welcome.
The Alpha course is free of charge. An overview session is held prior to the course to provide information about the program. The course runs over 10 weeks and includes an optional retreat on the Holy Spirit. Everyone is welcome to join one session or stay for all ten. This fall there are two opportunities to join an Alpha course, a daytime and evening course, details follow.
