St. Michael Lutheran Church

Worship

Acolyte

During the summer months we offer two Sunday morning worship services, 8:00 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. Each summer we use a different worship setting. Currently we are using Setting I of the Lutheran Book of Worship, which will continue through Labor Day weekend. Holy Communion is celebrated on the first and third Sunday of the month and all festivals. A new worship setting from
Evangelical Lutheran Worship is being planned for introduction to the congregation in the fall.

Worship and music are held to a high standard at St. Michael. Through both we seek to stir and inspire all who participate in the worship life of the congregation. Our worship can be characterized as traditional but with an openness to explore and a willingness to implement new liturgies and music without disrupting the rich heritage of our Lutheran tradition. We currently use draw our liturgy and music from a variety of sources, such as the Lutheran Book of Worship, With One Voice, Evangelical Lutheran Worship, as well as the music libraries of GIA Publications, and Oregon Catholic Press.

With our continued growth in membership, there has been discussion of adding a third worship service sometime after the completion of our new construction. The style and format for this possibility is being studied and discussed by the Pastors and the Worship and Music committee.
